What Products are Safe?

As an example of what customers need to watch out for, we chose three popular "natural" body care products for babies to show it is important for health to pay attention to ingredients, not just marketing hype.

Read the ingredients of these 3 popular products and the summary from the Skin Deep Cosmetics Database (by the Environmental Working Group) below. Some ingredients are fine, some have never been tested for safety and some are a cause for concern, especially for newborns and infants, with their thin, porous skin.

Hazard Rating: 1 >>> 10 - The hazard score represents a synthesis of known and suspected hazards from more than 50 definitive databases (used by the Cosmetics Database). The higher the number, the more hazardous to you and your baby's health. Ingredients in bold have the highest hazard rating.
